Interim Library Opening For Georgetown Residents

The D.C. Public Library has an interim library location to serve Georgetown while the permanent library is renovated. The Georgetown Interim Library will open Dec. 15 at 3307 M St. NW, a former Staples store. It will serve the area until the renovation of the Georgetown Library is complete in 2010.

The 4,000-square-foot facility will offer a full range of library services, including 20 public-access computers and free WiFi Internet access. The hours of operation will be 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays; 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays; and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. The facility does not have space for a community meeting room. Paid parking will be available underground.

The Georgetown Bookmobile closed Nov. 26. Holds can be picked up at the Palisades Neighborhood Library, 4901 V Street NW.
