Third Annual Bicycle "Tour de DCPL"
Join us Saturday May 19 for the Tour de DCPL and explore D.C. through your libraries!The Tour de DCPL is a library-themed bicycle ride of D.C., stopping at five DC Public Libraries. Bicycle-riding library staff and volunteers organize the ride each year as a way to promote environmentally friendly transportation and to explore how libraries connect with their communities.This year's ride begins at the Southwest Neighborhood Library - 900 Wesley Place SW. Arrive at 9 a.m. for registration, snacks and library card sign-ups!The ride will start by 9:30 a.m.Here is this year's proposed "East of the River" route:(Route is subject to change)1 - Southwest Neighborhood Library2 - Anacostia Neighborhood Library3 - Francis Gregory Interim Library + ride by site of new library4 - Dorothy I. Meetings on Library Renovations

Beginning Monday, the D.C. public library system will hold a final series of public meetings to solicit comments from the community on the proposed architecture and programs for four branch libraries that are being rebuilt.
Next week's meetings, all of which start at 7 p.m., will take place at the four libraries slated for reconstruction. Attendees will be shown architectural drawings and floor plans for the new buildings.
The meeting schedule is: Monday, Anacostia Neighborhood Library, 1800 Good Hope Rd. SE; Tuesday, Benning Neighborhood Library, 3935 Benning Rd. NE; Wednesday, Tenley-Friendship Neighborhood Library, 4450 Wisconsin Ave. NW; next Thursday, Watha T. Daniel/Shaw Neighborhood Library, 1701 Eighth St. NW.
