Video: Benning "Hopes and Dreams" Meeting

On July 31, 2007, DCPL hosted the first meeting in 2007 with the public about the transformation of the Benning library. At the time of the meeting, the old Benning library was still standing just a couple of blocks away -- this meeting was being held at the Interim Benning library location which had its grand opening just a few weeks earlier.

People wanted to see reports about why a renovation of the old building could not take place and DCPL to this date, January 17, 2007, has still to provide one.

Residents complain about lack of community notice and input.

The DCPL contracted architect, Davis Brody Bond Aedas, expresses how the Benning design process will move forward.
