Video: Ginnie Cooper and City Interests

On December 11, 2007, DCPL hosted another Benning library design meeting in a series of meetings to help plan the transformation of the Benning Library.

Chief Librarian Ginnie Cooper admits that she has begun discussions with City Interests, a private developer that has purchased the East of the River Shopping Center, about a potential sale of the current Benning library property.

In this video, Ginnie defers to City Interests representative Crosby Haynes to not announce a location where the library could instead be built. To date, January 15, 2008, neither DCPL nor DC Government mentioned any such deal in a formal and public way.
