Since Fenty has won his so-called mandate to reform the City, his mayoral-transition has seemingly squeezed out the concept of meaningful community input.
Jabari asks Mayor Adrian Fenty a question about Public property. Fenty responds, "What ever is best for the City, is what you should do as Mayor." This equation does not conclude how to discern "what's best for the City."
The Benning Dynamo and other veteran community based organizations have recently deployed survey campaigns to solicit community input and demonstrate what is at least one method of gathering "whats is best for the City." Our friend on the City Council, Harry Thomas, also conducts surveys with his Ward 5 constituents.
